From March 9th to the 13th, the Game Developers Conference (GDC) will all but take over the beautiful city of San Francisco with people flocking from far and wide to witness some of gaming’s latest and greatest inventions. Showcasing the efforts of the creators of Brutal Legend, Uncharted 2 and Braid to name a few, the conference is also broken into tracks so that attendees can witness how a video games was created.
With tons of free sessions for attendees to visit, the Moscone Convention Center, home of this year’s event, should make anyone’s itinerary when planning a tour of San Francisco. While not everyone can truly appreciate what goes into the making of a video game, most of us can appreciate other innovations that will be unveiled at this year’s GDC. Some of the innovations include the Sony Move, which is a movement-based controller similar to the Wii’s remote, and OnLive’s revelation that they’ll be offering streaming PC games via rental while also offering free demos through their service.
Touted as the largest gathering of professional video game developers that are focused on learning, inspiration and networking, the event brings in people from all over the globe that are interested in everything fun that technology has to offer. If you didn’t get a chance to catch this year’s event in San Francisco, don’t fret. You might be able to catch one with one of our tours of Germany as the next one takes place in Europe from August 16-18 in Cologne, Germany.
