Visit Istanbul and Ankara Turkey

Discover the “ Old City” of Instanbul, which was both the capital of the Byzantines and later the Ottoman empire. Visit the highlights of this enchanting city such as the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Aya Sofya Musuem filled with statues and paintings, and Istanbul’s fascinating Archaeological Museum. 

Take a ferry boat to Bosphorus, which is a northern suburb of Istanbul, in order to visit villages which stretch up to the mouth of the Black Sea.

For sports enthusiasts, watch the bizarre sport of grease wrestling at the Kirkpinar Festival, located just outside of Edirne in the early summer months. Or, for those who love sports which also involve animals, watch the amazing spectacle which involves camel wrestling, which takes place in the mid winter months in the town of Selcuk on the Aegean coast. These are two sports which you have to see to believe!
 

Take in the grandeur of the remains of the Roman city of Ephesus ( which today is called Selcuk). This city was founded in the 13th century B.C. and was carefully restored and is now considered one of the most spectacular ancient sites in the world.

South of Instanbul, the ancient Ottoman city of Bursa is awaiting you. Here you can visit a covered bazaar where you can buy all sorts of arts and crafts, jewerly and articles of clothing. Bursa is also home to the Green Mosque, an incredible 15th century mosque which will intrigue you with its history and attention to detail. Close to Bursa, visit the 2, 543 meter Uludag Mountain. There are also glacial lakes and a winter ski resort in this area which are especially fun for the adventurous traveler!
 

Cross the staits of the Dardanelles, which divide Europe and Asia and visit the ancient ruins of the famous city of Troy.

Experience the charm of the Mediterranean city of Antalya, with its old town and harbour, Kaleici. Here you can visit the many historic sights which surround the city and watch the great views of the sunset.
