Imagine crossing over a bridge that is suspended over 450 feet across and 230 feet above the Capilano River! Capilano Suspension Bridge is a five-foot wide swinging bridge is definitely not for the squeamish but is a great place to take that souvenir picture of Vancouver!

For those who love IMAX theatres, head to the CN IMAX theatre, where films in 3D are projected onto a giant screen, which is five stories high, and include surround sound and make you feel as if you are there!

Take a stroll along the beach path of English Bay; enjoy a café latte from one of the coffee bars along Denman Street. On the south side of English Bay, enjoy a picnic with family or friends at Jericho Beach. For those who enjoy “ clothing optional “ beaches, head to Wreck Beach which is located in the University Endowment Lands in the Pacific Spirit Regional Park. 

Afterwards, head to “ Gastown”, named after “ Gassy” Jack Leighton, who opened the first bar in Vancouver back in 1867 and enjoy the cobblestone street, shops and restaurants. Don’t forget to check out the very unique steam powered clock while you are there.

Another great view of the city can be found at the Harbour Center Tower Lookout. This structure is one of the city’s tallest, and features an all-glass elevator, which runs up the side tower to the 40th floor! It also offers a full 360-degree observation deck.

For nature lovers, a trip to Fantasy Garden World is a must! This 21-acre garden includes an old-fashioned conservatory for tropical plants, a beautiful rose garden complete with a gazebo, teahouse and Oriental Garden. 

For sports lovers, catch a basketball game with The Grizzlies or a hockey game with the Vancouver Canucks at their 20,000 seat home called General Motors Place.

Children will love a trip to the Greater Vancouver Zoo (formerly known as the Vancouver Game Farm) offers visitors 49 hectares to walk or drive in between the fields of this fascinating zoo. There is a children’s petting zoo, as well as elephants, camels, hippos, tigers and lions among other animals. The zoo is a treat for the whole family!

Whether you smell the roses at the Park and Tilford Gardens, stroll through Queen Elizabeth Park or admire the fascinating animals at the Vancouver Aquarium, Vancouver is a city, which has something for everyone.
