The revolutionary tablet by Apple is causing quite a stir in the world of Travel & Tourism sparking a strong buzz about how iPad can add more excitement and value to travel.  iPad recently found its first entry point into Travel with the prestigious chain of hotels – InterContinental conducting trials for iPad in four of its flagship properties – the InterContinental New York Barclay, InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta, InterContinental London Park Lane and the InterContinental Hong Kong. According to the sources, iPad will be used to perform concierge tasks such as making reservations for guests, providing assistance with directions, suggestions for restaurants and guidance about local areas with the help of iPad’s high-resolution map application. If the hotel chain is satisfied with the trials, they will use it globally across all its branches. InterContinental’s decision to use iPad was primarily based on an intention to enhance the traditional concierge services.
