According to the American Resort Development Association, more women are planning girlfriend getaways.  A survey conducted by the association shows that 38% of women have recently taken a vacation with female family and friends, while 63% intend to take one in the coming years.  This has been a reoccurring theme over the recent several years as studies show that instead of planning a conventional family vacation, women in their 30’s and 40’s are preferring to escape for some quality time with their girlfriends.

This rising trend goes hand in hand with the fact that there are now a greater number of independent, working women with disposable incomes.  Naturally, because they are hard at work balancing the stress of both their family and professional lives, these women are finding the need to escape from their everyday workload.   A vacation away from the husband and children is just what these women need to feel revitalized and relaxed.

A trip to Hawaii or a tour of New York are both excellent options for a girlfriend getaway.  Ladies can look forward to lounging on the warm sand or getting spa treatments as they visit Hawaii, or for city girls who love shopping, theater and more, a trip to New York is a great alternative.
