Dive into South Africa’s culture with a trip to the Johannesburg Fort and Constitution Hill, which is one of the most famous historical landmarks in Johannesburg. The fort is actually a jail, which was built during Apartheid times. Here you can visit the Apartheid Museum and have the chance to see the incredibly beautiful Constitutional Court Building. Your guides dress up in traditional clothes from that era, as they take you through the old Supreme Court. Perhaps your guide’s name might be Thrugood Marshall or other famous names from the nineteenth century. This tour is educational and fun for people of all ages!

A must for any visitor to Johannesburg, is a trip to Lion Park, which is an outdoor park where lions are definitely the main attraction. Drive your car through the different "pride" areas. Keep on the lookout for white lions, which are amazingly beautiful!  If you are lucky enough to be there during feeding time, you will enjoy watching in awe as the keepers throw these majestic animals meat, and the lions will be not only out in full force, but they will be in action for everyone to see! Remember, these lions are not tame, although they are in a “park” setting.  Please admire these remarkable animals from the safety of your car.

Whether you are shopping for souvenirs at the Crafters Market, learning more about the rich history of Africa at the African Museum or enjoying the view from atop the Carlton Centre, Johannesburg is a city which is not only beautiful, it is also steeped in culture and history, and is just waiting to be explored by you.
