Delphi is one of the most famous and important archaeological sites found in Greece. It should definitely appear on the itinerary of every traveler who is attracted to its rich culture, which has been known to the world for over a thousand years. Delphi, which is set within a spectacular landscape, was for many centuries the cultural and religious centre and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world. According to Greek Mythology, Delphi was regarded as the centre of the world because it is here where the Greek God Zeus sent out two eagles from the ends of the universe and instructed them to find the navel, or centre of the world – they met in Delphi. 
During your stay in this great town, make sure to visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Chiot Altar and the Temples of Apollo and Tholos, which are treasures far beyond your wildest imagination. Although most of these monuments had to be restored, their spectacular architecture and historic value are still intact and are wonderful to behold. 

Delphi is very accessible by car from Athens, the capital of Greece, as it is only an hour and thirty minutes away. As you drive north on Highway E75, feast your eyes on the scenery as the road climbs Mount Parnassos and passes through the quaint village of Arachova, located only twelve kilometres from Delphi. Arachova is an extremely beautiful and traditional town, one filled with stunning views, quaint houses, small cobble-stoned roads and a very friendly and warm atmosphere. This town is a wonderful place to visit, any time of the year, whether you are skiing in the Parnassos’ mountains or relaxing by the coast. 

There are also other sports and activities available besides skiing, such as trekking, cycling, hiking and even parasailing off of one of the many hills in this area, camping in the forest and close experiences with nature located in the Parnassos region.
