The Windy City offers one of the best mass- transit systems in the United States which includes subways ( called the « Loop »), buses and elevated trains which locals refer to as « The El ». This makes travelling around the city both inexpensive and quite easy.

Purchase a CityPass which gives you admission to six different tourist attractions in Chicago for $49 US per adult and $39 US for children from ages 3-11. It is valid for nine days from its first use.

Chicago’s lakefront has been turned into one of the US’ most finest urban parks. Many concerts and festivals take place here and the city’s park system is one of the most extensive in the world. Take a walk down to Buckingham Fountain which is one of the many attractions located at Grant Park.

Make sure to visit Sears Tower which offers spectacular views of Chicago and the suburbs whether by day or night. Take in the view from the 94th floor of the Hancock Tower which gives you a magnificent view of  the shoreline of Lake Michigan as well as  a horizon which ecompasses four states.

Enjoy a play, musical or theatrical performance at Northwestern University  which offers tickets to shows  for a fraction of the larger theatres downtown. The University is known for having one of the best theatre programs in the United States. Check out a show at the Second City Troupe where many famous comedians began their careers.

Chicago is a very multicultural city with different ethnic backgrounds from every nation. Street festivals are common and its a great way to get out and try local and international foods.

Make sure to hop on the Chicago Trolley Tour which provides a comprehensive tour of the city and stops at the popular tourist destinations.
