Although Thanksgiving seems like it’s still a while away, seeing that most of us haven’t even picked out our Halloween costumes just yet, travel experts say have a good point when noting that those who want to take advantage of cheaper airfare should start planning their vacation now, before the rest of the holiday travelers beat you to it.  According to Travelocity’s Thanksgiving Travel Report, most travelers will pay up to about $170 more during peak dates, but those who have a bit of flexibility with their holiday schedules may be able to save by just tweaking their plans a bit.  To increase your chances in paying less during the holiday weekend, travel experts suggest avoiding booking a returning flight on Sunday, and instead choose to return on the following Friday or Tuesday after Thanksgiving.  In fact, the cheapest flight around Thanksgiving time is to depart on Thanksgiving Day and fly back on Tuesday, with an average airfare of about $293.  Those who choose to travel the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and return on Sunday, face a drastic increase in ticket prices, at about $463 roundtrip.  Travel analysts credit the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday immediately following it the two busiest days of the holiday.
