The First Family Takes A Vacation to Martha’s Vineyard

President Barack Obama and his family begin a week-long vacation on the upcoming Friday on one of the most beautiful islands of Massachusetts located off the coast – Martha’s Vineyard. This is President’s second time to visit this beautiful destination after his visit in 2009, when he spent most of his time golfing and hanging out with friends.

Martha’s Vineyard is known for its gorgeous beaches, delectable food, and warm people.  The sheer number of activities that one can indulge in on this island is countless. Beaches, biking, fishing, birding, sailing, and so much more, making it an ideal vacation spot for families. "It’s some place that the president went before he was president and likes to go back because it’s a comfortable place where he can rest and recharge the batteries a little bit.", according to Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton.

Earlier this month, the first family had visited Panama City, Florida, mainly to bolster tourism on the Gulf Coast. The President also met with business leaders about the BP oil spill and its effect on the region during the vacation. Martha’s Vineyard is well-known vacation hangout of the rich and famous, and was a favorite getaway for another Democratic president as well: Bill Clinton.
