During the winter months, many North Americans long to escape to a tropical playground, where there is no snow in sight, and where you can lounge all day in the heat of the sun. St. Kitts is one Caribbean island where the sun is always shinning and the beaches are always white and sandy. 

St. Kitts is perhaps a little less well known than some of the other Caribbean islands in the region, but for those tourists who are lucky enough to visit her shores, she is truly a breathtaking jewel of the Caribbean.  

The beaches here are fantastically stunning, from their white, sandy appearance to the blue hue of the crystal blue water; St. Kitts will amaze you by the beauty of its beaches. While you are relaxing on the sand, make sure to try the local jerk chicken which is literally cooked on hot coals by locals as you watch. They add special Caribbean spices and a barbecue flavoured sauce which will make your mouth water. This local way of cooking chicken is simply delicious; wash it down with a nice, cold beer or soft drink. 

The beaches offer a variety of activities for the whole family to participate in from snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, windsurfing, swimming, and fishing. It is easy to rent jet skis or a banana boat from the locals and you are on your way to a day filled with sun and plenty of fun!  

For the romantics, take a stroll along the moonlight beach and gaze into the horizon or pack a picnic lunch and watch the sunset melt into the sea. The sunsets are incredibly gorgeous and include a variety of different colours which blend into the background and leave you feeling rested and peaceful.  

It is always best to ask the locals where they prefer to spend a day at the beach as they have insider information which will lead to you to untouched spots where many tourists don’t have the chance to visit. These unspoiled beaches with their beautiful scenery including steep cliffs and luscious green valleys are truly a sight to behold.
