Bilbao is located in the northern region of Spain, and its tourist attractions are as varied as its language and culture. There are many attractions, which range from historical plazas, vast football stadiums and concert halls, markets and museums.

When in Bilbao, make sure to visit the Biblioteca Municipal de Bidebarrieta or the local library, as it’s a historical building, which dates back to the late 19th century. This splendid library is home to much more than just books. There is a large hall, which regularly hosts many of Bilbao’s most notable events and concerts, a modern computer area and numerous temporary art exhibitions.

The local market area was once a historic laundry house, and it is now a brick building with regular markets and specialty shops, it is an area, which is full of character and is the perfect place to shop for souvenirs. The house itself was an important part of life in Bilbao in the early 20th century and was built in 1910.

Next on any tour to Bilbao should include the Palacio de Congreso y Música which hosts many important conferences, theatrical performances such as ballets, operas and concerts throughout the year. This building stands near the historic Euskalduna shipyard and it resembles an enormous ship. Other attractions nearby include local restaurants, coffee shops, bars, terrace cafés and beautifully landscaped gardens.

It’s located in the heart of Gran Via, one of the most popular routes to stroll along at night for tourists and locals alike. Try paella, a local Spanish dish and a glass of calimocho, which is a delicious mix of red wine and Coca-Cola.
