Russia and houses some of the most beautiful sculptures and rare paintings I have ever seen. The museum itself is huge and it has various wings with unique themes and designs. An avid museum goer could spend a week admiring the works of art found in this museum!  Its colourful design grabs your attention and its contents keep you coming back for more!

After the museum, head to a typical Russian musical performance where you will be entertained by Russian dancers and singers. Taste test the local homemade vodka made from different types of potatoes! Russian vodka is world renowned and tasting the local food and drink is a great way to immerse yourself in Russian culture. Know your limit though and stay within it!

Take a boat tour to many of Saint Petersburg’s most famous churches and other monuments of historical and cultural importance.  Do not miss the fantastically beautiful “ Church of Spilled Blood” which uses typical Russian architecture, domes, and an array of colours and ceramics in its decoration. This church is a feast for the eyes and will leave you breathless!

Nightlife is upbeat and lively in Saint Petersburg and there seems to be a party going on all throughout the year. There are many bars and discotheques which line the streets as well as jazz clubs, live Russian music and even nightclubs which specialize in techno and house music.  Saint Petersburg is definitely a city where you can party until the wee hours of the night!

Shopping is a favorite activity of young and older Russians alike, and there are many malls, markets and speciality stores abound. Many kiosks are set up in front of tourist attractions and while the prices might be a little more expensive, here you will find the typical Russian dolls and warm, Russian hats in many styles and colours, which you might want to take home as souvenirs.
