Music, Parties, and Performances at Miami’s Winter Music Conference

For twenty-six years, the Winter Music Conference has been the event to look forward to for both those in the music industry and fans alike.  The famous event, which takes place once a year in Miami, Florida, showcases musical talent from legendary and emerging artists from all over the world through performances, workshops, and exhibits.  The music conference is responsible for launching career-defining performances and debuting hits from numerous artists that include Lady Gaga, Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas, Deadmau5, and David Guetta.  Musicians look forward to playing new material for their fans at the Conference because it allows them to gauge what the audience wants and helps them see how their tracks are received.  Aside from the amazing performances, the Winter Music Conference is known for hosting some of the liveliest parties at South Beach’s many venues.

In addition to the Winter Music Conference, music fans and insiders plan a trip to Miami for the Ultra Music Festival, which focuses on mainly electronic music.  Although the Winter Music Conference and Ultra had typically been held during the same week in the past, this year’s events will be slightly different.  WMC will commence two weeks before Ultra, which begins on March 25th thru the 27th.  Although many fans have expressed their disappointment in not having the two music festivals take place during the same week, Ultra promises to deliver to its loyal following.  The event has now expanded to a total of three days of performances and parties and is expected to have a larger international lineup.  Last year’s sold out event featured popular DJ’s Tiesto, David Guetta, Deadmau5, and Axwell.  And much like WMC, you can expect some of the craziest parties to take place during this three-day event.  While this year’s headliners haven’t been announced yet, early bird tickets sold out within five hours on November 16.  Three day pass tickets are now on sale for $179.95.

If you’re planning a Miami tour during the month of March, you should definitely make some time for either the Winter Music Conference or Ultra Music Festival.  During 2009’s Conference, about 85,000 people from 65 countries traveled to Miami to enjoy performances by over 250 musicians on 16 stages, so you really don’t want to miss out on this one!  Also, while you’re in the area pick up a GO Miami Card to save on Miami attractions.
