The city of London, England is one full of culture, history and beauty. London offers many exciting and interesting things to do when you are on a budget.

Tour of the city on a Double-Decker bus
Sightseeing on a red Double-Decker bus is not only typical of London; it is also a very practical and inexpensive way of visiting this vibrant city and all it has to offer. Take the subway (or the Tube as Londoners call it) to the picturesque Piccadilly Circus to hop on a bus and begin your tour.

London Walks

Take in the sights by going on a walking guided tour, which usually lasts two hours. The tour is well priced at $14 USD (£ 7 pounds). Most of these tours leave in the vicinity of a subway stop and the tour guides white signs are easy to spot. There is a great walking tour available which includes a trip to visit London’s Parliament, Westminster Abby and 10 Downing Street (the residence of England’s Prime Minister). This tour lasts approximately three hours, and is a little more costly but is worth every penny.

London Pass
London Pass allows entry into 56 fascinating admission-charging sights for a single price. You will also receive a free guidebook. You can purchase the passes online starting at $76 USD (£38 pounds) per adult and $48 USD (£24 pounds) per child. The passes are good between one and six days.

Visit the Tower of London with a “Yeoman Warder”

A trip to London would not be complete without a tour of the historic Tower of London. Men dressed up as Yeoman Warders in “ Beefeater” costumes (imagine the bottle of gin by the same name) give away free one- hour tours every 30 minutes from just inside the gate. Not to be missed!

The British Museum

Make sure to check out the British Museum which is free every day from 10:00am-5:30pm. It is one of the world’s best museums and there are so many wonderful pieces of art to view that you could literally spend a week there! The British Museum is accessed easily by subway by exiting at the Tottenham Court Road stop.

Whether you are enjoying the street scene at Covent Garden, tasting the delicious fruit found at London’s famous Borough Market, or taking pleasure in drinking a pint of beer at a local pub, London is a fun and entertaining city to visit on a budget.
