In preparation for LA’s Pride 2010 celebration, hotels all over Los Angeles will be offering special discounts and weekend packages.  The festival, which proudly showcases West Hollywood’s diverse and eclectic culture, takes place this year from June 11-13.   LA Pride is renowned as one of the most significant events organized to honor gay and lesbian rights and has been an annual gathering since its start in 1970.  The weekend long celebration produced by Christopher Street West will feature performances by artists Kelis, En Vogue, the Motels, and Kelly Rowland, and will be governed by the theme: Power, Passion, and Purpose.  Patrons of the festival will be treated to food, drink and education provided by a diverse mix of vendors.  The celebration ends with a parade on the Sunday, June 13th, where approximately 400,000 guests will pay tribute to those who have suffered oppression and to honor those who continue to fight for their freedom to love. 

Popular luxury hotels in Los Angeles such as the Mondrian, the Petit Ermitage, and the London West Hollywood will be offering great packages including special room rates, couples massages, dining vouchers, and poolside cabana rentals.

The festival opens on Saturday June 12 from 12pm – 11pm, and on Sunday June 13th from 11am- 10pm, on San Vicente Blvd.  Admission to the event is $20 a day, but presale tickets are offered at $15.  The LA Pride Parade commences at 11am on Sunday, June 13th along Santa Monica Blvd. With the warmth of the summer sun already attracting many to California, the LA Pride festival is even more of a reason to visit Los Angeles.  Plan your trip to Los Angeles soon and take part in this meaningful celebration!
