When most people think of Barcelona, perhaps the famous basilica “ Sagrada Familia” comes to mind. However, Barcelona offers its visitors many unique vacation ideas such as parachute jumping and formula 1 driving, to uniquely indulgent experiences like chocolate massages and luxury day spas.

Enjoy an evening of flamboyant Latin flavour with an energetic combination of dancing and drinking! This is a great way to move your body to the beat and be a part of this invigorating experience! You can go on tours, which show you the passionate art of salsa dancing, help you uncover the secret to the perfect cocktail and let you savour some delicious, traditional Spanish tapas. Enjoy listening to the sweet sounds of the Catalan language, which is spoken along with Spanish, in this region of Spain.

Start your sightseeing tour of Barcelona at the Arc De Triomf (which was the entrance to the 1888 universal exhibition held in this city). Head down to the Barcelona waterfront, which includes the Olympic Village, the Columbus Monument and the Gothic Drassanes among others.  Next you should visit Montjüic Hill, where you can go to the Mirador del Alcalde (the Mayor’s Lookout) and be able to enjoy some truly spectacular views of the harbour and the whole city.

For those of you who would like to indulge yourself in Spanish culture, take a day trip to one of the smaller pueblos (towns) close to Barcelona. Here you can visit one of the Spanish villages, which was built for the 1929 Exhibition, which shows replicas of streets, squares, and monuments, which are of cultural importance in Spain. You will also be able to watch the many artisans at work as they use traditional crafts and incorporate them into modern designs. This is a great place to get personalized souvenirs!

For lunch you will be able to take advantage of the many bars and restaurants available. Try the Spanish dish “ paella” which consists of rice and seafood. Wash it all down with some sangria (red wine mixed with pieces of fruit) or a bottle of wine from the Duaro region of Spain.

Whether you are enjoying a drink at one of the outdoor cafés of Plaça Catalunya, dancing into the wee hours of the morning at one of the many nightclubs, or admiring the city’s architectural delights, Barcelona is a city, which will always be embedded in your memory.
