Due to the tough economic times it’s quite possible you may not be able to take a vacation this year. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean your words can’t do some traveling.

Until the end of the year, anyone on the planet can write up to a 4 page message on a satellite called KEO set to launch in 2011.

All the messages will be laser engraved on glass discs and will not be censored in any way. The purpose of the satellite is to act as a kind of time capsule in space that will hopefully be discovered by another civilization one day.

It costs nothing to contribute, but messages are only being accepted until the end of this year — so hurry!
