Universal Studios: Not for the frail at heart.
Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” is where it’s at if you want to be truly frightened this October. If you thought Jurassic Park was scary, try it out in the pitch dark. Witness one of Hollywood’s most frightening scenes when you see Hitchcock’s Psycho come to life. Also, Universal Studios presents 5 new blood-curdling mazes based on epically horrific films: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Saw, and House of 1000 Corpses. At every turn inside the park you’ll be terrorized by vampires, killer clowns, La Llorona, psychotic asylum patients, cannibals, and the infamous Chucky.
Disneyland: Some Scary Fun for the whole family.
Halloween Time at Disneyland offers a little bit for everyone. The whole park transforms with over 300 impressively carved pumpkins displayed around the park, and a 16 foot-tall Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern! The rides also get revamped into their haunted counterparts. Ride Space Mountain’s “ghost galaxy,” see the Haunted House with its new Nightmare Before Christmas makeover, or relive the original story behind the Tower of Terror. On Main Street, U.S.A., check out all your favorite Disney characters dressed up in costumes and get your own Disney themed costumes in Disney’s decked-out shops. Also, in good tradition, Disneyland presents “Mickey’s Halloween Party,” where you can go trick-or-treating!
Las Vegas: Sin City with Costumes.
Ready for a thrill? Then think about hitting The Strip this Halloween! Check out Monster Mayhem, a freak fest with three haunted attractions: The Haunted Mansion, 3-D Morbid Clown Manor, and The Aces & Eights Haunted Casino. Each maze lasts about 10 minutes, and is sure to scare. Then there is Madame Tussaud’s “After Dark,” where you’ll be led through hallways of creepy wax figures with the glow of only a single light. If you want to see some spectacular costumes don’t forget to visit the club scene where each hotel features its own themed Halloween party, like “Seven Sexy Sins” at Luxor or the Fetish and Fantasy Halloween Ball at the Hard Rock, with costume prizes ranging up to $100,000 in cash!
