Known for her great ideas and keen fashion sense, when First Lady Michelle Obama speaks, most of listen intently to what she has to say. So when the First Lady pointed out some of her favorite places to visit in Washington, D.C., we played close attention.
Known for its great history and powerful aura, a tour of Washington, D.C. is a great way to enjoy your vacation and visit some of the First Lady’s favorite places to visit, including Monticello, the estate of our third president, Thomas Jefferson., and the Washington Monument, a tremendous edifice that pays tribute to our nation’s first president. And while you’re at it, make sure to swing by Mount Vernon, George Washington’s estate, and the home of Frederick Douglass.
Fine dining is yet another thing to enjoy when taking a tour of Washington, D.C., which the First Lady and her husband made sure to do on their 17th wedding anniversary and also for the president’s 46th birthday as well.
However, one thing you’ll be able to do that the First Lady isn’t able to do when you take a trip to Washington, D.C. is walk around like a normal visitor. And while you’re thinking about taking a tour of Washington, D.C., make sure to enjoy some of the neighboring areas, including taking a trip to New York, a trip to Boston or any of the other great travel destinations on the East Coast.
