In addition to the barbeques, the beaches, and the long weekend, Americans look forward
to celebrating July 4th with fireworks. While some cities still allow the personal use of
these, many neighborhoods are now restricting the use of fireworks on Independence
Day. Luckily for them, there are a number of public firework displays celebrating the 4th.
Below is a list of the nation’s most popular firework shows that will surely leave you in
awe.
Fort Bragg, California
•
If you happen to find yourself on a trip to California over the long weekend, make
sure you check out this event. The Medocino Coast display lights up the night
sky over the Georgia Pacific mill site, as the colorful fireworks cascade over the
ocean. This is event is free and is even proceeded by the World’s Largest Salmon
Barbeque.
Epcot, Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida
•
Although those who have visited Disney World in the past know that Epcot
already has a daily firework show, the theme park actually hosts a much longer
display during Independence Day, complete with a spectacular finale. In addition
to fireworks, the park enlists the help of lasers, smoke, pyrotechnics, holographic
projections on water, and of course, the soundtracks to Disney’s most beloved
films to astound its audiences. Be sure to check out this amazing show if you
plan to tour Florida this weekend.
Hudson River, New York, New York
•
For those who intend on joining a tour of New York for July 4th, make it a point
to visit the Macy’s 4th of July Show. This year’s 34th annual display promises to
deliver over 40,000 displays of special effects and exhilarating color. The New
York Pops orchestra and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will also contribute to the
night’s entertainment.
