Travelers planning on a trip to Canada will be pleased to hear that Air Canada and United Airlines will soon be joining forces to bring customers more convenient and affordable travel between the two countries. The result of this new merger will mean more flight options, more destinations, lower prices, and better service, making it great news for both business and leisure travelers. Air Canada currently flies to 59 cities in the United States, whereas the United Airlines’ network includes a total of 210 US airports, making the joining of these two major airlines allows them to streamline their schedules and optimize frequency and efficiency on flight times, allowing the passenger more options and flexibility. Naturally, this deal benefits both those flying to the US, as well as those travelling to Canada, as United’s presence in Canada will be increased from 16 to 59 flights. The airlines hope this deal will come to fruition in early 2011, once they finalize the approvals and filings.
