Just in time for New Years, Las Vegas welcomes it newest addition to the Strip, the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. The brand new resort is situated in a great location along the famous Las Vegas Strip, just halfway between the Wynn and Mandalay Bay resorts, making it conveniently located within walking distance to all the must-see attractions for anyone on a Las Vegas tour. However, this grand opening did not come without meeting a few bumps along the way. There had been much uncertainty about whether the resort would ever open, seeing that there had been some difficulty financing the new project. Finally, Deutsche Bank acquired the property and reached a partnership with Marriot to continue building the luxury resort.
With construction finally coming to an end, The Cosmopolitan will boast 2,995 guest rooms as well as residential condos designed by celebrated interior designers like David Rockwell. Most suites will have a contemporary theme complete with kitchenettes and living areas, as well as a private outdoor terrace. The spacious balconies offer a stunning view of the city, thanks to the resort’s 50 story vertically shaped building. Visitors who stay at The Cosmopolitan during their Las Vegas trip can enjoy three pools and a nightclub managed by the same folks who brought you Venetian’s Tao Nightclub. And like most Vegas resorts, The Cosmopolitan will host several shopping boutiques, but perhaps the most impressive aspect this resort has to offer is its wide array of elegant eateries. Visitors can have their pick from 14 different dining establishments during their Las Vegas tour, many from renowned celebrity chefs. Comme Ca, a French-themed hot spot that has already garnered a following at its Los Angeles location, will be serving guests at their new branch in The Cosmopolitan. Another culinary treat guests can look forward to is China Poblana and Jaleo, the newest venture by Chef Jose Andres, whose restaurant The Bazaar, has been a top pick among food critics since it opened in LA.
NOTE: there has already been much talk about its highly anticipated New Year’s Eve concert, during which Jay-Z and Coldplay are set to perform.
