With the success of Apple’s iPad, Bluebox Avionics is set to launch an in-flight entertainment application in July. The company plans to distribute individual iPads to passengers installed with Bluebox Ai, as the application will be called, so they can enjoy movies, games read their favorite e-books or magazines, or even gamble. Yes, you read right… gamble! As if all that weren’t enough, passengers will also have the option of downloading additional applications through Apple’s App Store. The Bluebox Ai streams wirelessly, based on what the traveler selects to view. Also, because it will come equipped with software which allows passengers to view content whenever they choose, passengers no longer have to worry about when the usage of their electronic devices is not allowed. Bluebox Avionics hopes that iPad will replace the small, uncomfortable to view screens in front of passenger seats. This innovative entertainment system makes its debut in July on an unnamed international carrier, and is slated to appear on smaller airlines in the near future. This is excellent for frequent flyers, who will finally be able to enjoy a personalized in-flight entertainment system.
