The U.S. Senate today passed the “Travel Promotion Act,” (S. 1023), a new program said to drive millions of new travelers to the U.S., create jobs and strengthen the economy. The proposed legislation now moves to the House for a vote.
The Travel Promotion Act creates a public-private partnership to promote the United States as a premier travel destination to visitors. If enacted into law, the travel program is estimated to create 40,000 U.S. jobs, drive $4 billion in new consumer spending and reduce the federal budget deficit by $425 million, according to the U.S. Travel Association.
