Perhaps like most people, the first image that pops into your head when you hear ‘Las Vegas’ is the one–armed bandits (slot machines) and crowded blackjack and roulette tables. Las Vegas is one of the most famous gambling cities in the world, but there is so much more to see and do here that doesn’t involve gambling! 

While you are strolling along the strip, the bright lights will no doubt catch your eye– many of these fluorescent signs advertise spectacular shows such as the “Cirque du Soleil” or Chris Angel’s Mind Freak Show. A great way to relax and unwind is to take in a famous Las Vegas Show including the exciting Las Vegas dancers! Any of the shows you pick will be sure to amaze and astonish you! 

For nature lovers, head to Lake Tahoe, a beautiful, clear, freshwater lake. The lake offers a tranquil setting and a gorgeous panorama of mountain scenery. The perfect setting for a picnic or a relaxing afternoon surrounded by nature! 

Another tourist attraction, which you might recognize from the Chevy Chase movie “Las Vegas Vacation”, is the Hoover Dam, which is an awe-inspiring structure.  Photo opportunities are endless here!  

For those of you who love lounge singers, try to catch a Wayne Newton show live in Las Vegas! ‘Mr. Las Vegas’ always wows the crowd with his banjo and electric violin playing, and his catchy tunes will keep your feet tapping. If you want to get closer to all the action, take a drive to ‘Casa de Shenandoah’, which is where this legendary singer lives! Although tours of the grounds are not available to the general public, this is a MUST for any true Wayne Newton fan! If you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of Wayne’s prize-winning Arabian horses and see his beautifully landscaped gardens for yourself! 

A fantastic day trip to take from Las Vegas is a short flight away (or bus ride) to Arizona, to feast your eyes on one of the natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon. Until you have been there, it’s hard to describe its majestic presence. The Grand Canyon is best seen when the sun is just rising or about to set, as the canyon’s multi-colored grandeur mixes with the vibrant colors of the sun, which is great for out-of-this-world photography!

Whether you are teeing off at one of Las Vegas’ golf courses, playing blackjack at the “ Mirage” or taking in a Vegas show, Las Vegas is a spectacular city, which will leave you eager to come back again and again.
