As strange as it may seem, Iceland is full of golf courses because the harsh climate is a Mecca for golf during the summer and golfers can hit the links from morning to night! Come in the middle of June, where Akureyi golf course, hosts the Arctic Open, a popular tournament that begins at midnight!!! This is definitely a fun and different way to golf!
Visit the Reykjavik Art Museum, which exhibits paintings, prints and collages, which are composed of visual elements of both Eastern and Western culture. Go to an outdoor concert or shop in the many boutiques and gallerias in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.

If fishing is your thing, you will love the fact that Iceland has some of the best salmon fishing in the world! North Atlantic salmon carve their way through wild rivers and deep valleys in order to arrive in the icy waters of Iceland. Some of the massive salmon make you think that you can almost reach down and scoop out the fish with your hand, just like the grizzly bear! This is an experience for any fisherman, experienced or not.

Climb a glacier with a guide for an once-in-a-lifetime experience of feeling the snow beneath your feet, and the liberating feeling of being one with nature. For those you would rather witness a glacier by air, you can imagine yourself flying across a glacier with nothing in front of you but white tundra and vistas of rugged mountains. You can also cross glaciers by snowmobile, the most popular being Snaefellsnesjokull glacier, on the westernmost point of Iceland. This glacier holds a special place in the heart of locals and tourists alike.

There are tours available from Reykjavik, which will take you mountain climbing, river rafting or horseback riding. Canoeing and kayaking are also available.  For brave souls, the Polar Bear Swim for those who are willing to jump in the frigid water, even in the winter! Not an activity for the faint of heart!

Whether you are listening to the tunes of Bjork, a singer from Iceland, in a local bar, taking in the rustic beauty of the mountainous terrain or walking around the great outdoors, Reykjavik, Iceland is a magical city and the only limit to your adventure is your imagination.
