OUR definition of an "Online Crush"

The couple that travels together stays together!  This week, we have a crush on this adventurous couple from Canada who not only have fallen in love with each other, but also fallen in love with travel and traveling together!  Meet Dave and Debbie, Canada’s Adventure Couple, on their travel blog site, ”The Planet D,” as they share how they are living by their motto “anyone can do it.”  This couple has taken on the challenges and adventures that anyone would be curious and passionate about discovering and exploring.  They want to prove to other would-be travelers that you don’t have to be a professional athlete, expert mountaineer or superhuman iron man to be an adventurer!

As unique and adventurous as this couple is, so are their travels and explorations.   Over the course of their 13-year marriage, they have biked, hiked, climbed and paddled all over the world.  Dave & Debbie have immersed themselves in the cultures and adventures of over 43 countries!  Traveling slow and spending weeks, and sometimes months in each country, they have found themselves students of the world.  From joining the Adams Peak Pilgrimage in Sri Lanka to studying Yoga in India, they allow themselves time and effort in getting to know the place and its people. 

The advantages of traveling as a couple have proven to be numerous, especially when one recognizes that a broad view of the world is being seen from two different perspectives.  This allows them to also experience different activities that they may have otherwise avoided if traveling alone.

Providing various chapters on their site, for example, “The Truth About Travel” is their aim at providing truthful information about traveling as a couple, and what it’s like to be on the road for extended amounts of time.  “The Good, the Bad, the Unexpected” is meant to share everything about their world travels, including those embarrassing moments!

We are very excited about their next adventure, where they will be heading to the exotic and cultural island of Fiji!  Then they will push on to other great and exciting locations like China and Yunnan.  Next summer, they will be going to an epic Charity Rally, starting in London and ending in Mongolia!  Dave, I’m sure, will share videos as Debbie showcases all the wonders of their adventures– descriptive and colorful. 

They also provide tips and advice on everything from couples traveling and electronics to general advice and troubles on the road.  Sharing videos of their adventures on five continents: Africa, The Americas, Asia and Europe, D & D capture splendid moments with photos, describing the serene settings to relive and share.  From surfing in Bali to climbing in India, their passion and unique adventures are shared as they travel and explore such places as: Northern Africa; Central and South America; the varied cultures of Asia, from Cambodia to China; and old world architectures of Europe’s classical countries, France, Italy and Spain.
