The Most Expensive Way To Travel

Arguable the finest way to travel would not be boarding a first class flight, staying in the finest hotel known to man, or enjoying all the VIP treatment. Traveling in a first class manner would truly be owning everything along the way. So if you feel like breaking something, break it. If you don’t like the rules, change them. Any vacation would start at one’s house packing for for your vacation. Our idea of the finest trip in the world, would start at the most expensive house in the world which is owned by Mukesh Ambani.

The Most Expensive Home (under construction)

Mukesh Ambani, who according to Forbes, is the 5th richest person in the world with a new worth of $43 billion in March 2008. Ambani is in the process of building the first two-billion dollar house. Upon completion the house will be 550 feet high with 4,000,000 square feet of living space.

The Most Expensive Luggage

As you packed for your trip it would only make sense to use the finest luggage priced at approximately $20,000 per “no suitcase” as its designer Henk would call it.

With only 3000 made each year, Henk takes their time on each case paying attention to every detail. In decoration, the luggage is made from the finest wood veneer and horse hair. However, it maintains a super durable and lightweight structure, comprised of carbon fiber and titanium. This amazing luggage opens from the both sides, featuring a removable briefcase. There is absolutely no detail that has been forgotten and if you think they have overlooked something, feel free to design your own at Henk.Com.

The Most Expensive Jet

As you reach the airport, forget first class. Why not just board your own airbus? At $300 million, The Airbus 380A is practically available to the masses.

Only one person has actually purchased this aircraft for his or her pleasure. Who it is remains a mystery. However, it is believed that Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, Chelsea FC owner, is the first buyer of the largest luxury jet. It has been said that interior designers have already proposed customizations to the A380 which includes three bedrooms, a lounge and dining area, a sauna and exercise bikes. It can actually fly 9,000 miles without refueling, which is about the equivalent of about New York to Australia.
At this point in our journey, we have left home, packed our bags, boarded out private jet, but where are we going? Our own private island, of course.

The Most Expensive Private Island (Undeveloped That Is)

According to privateislandsonline.com, Ronde Island is actually the third most expensive private island on the market. However, the first two are being sold more as development projects and actually possess both structures and people on them right now. Private Islands Online’s description is actually quite stunning:

“Isolated and untouched by development, fishing or run-off, this island archipelago’s marine life is prolific and stunning. Superb visibility typically exceeds 100 feet, and turtles, large pelagics and green moray eels are common. Dramatic underwater topography includes breathtaking drop-offs over ‘bottomless’ vertical walls, coral-encrusted canyons – and even a swim-through cave which opens to an underground cavern decorated with stalactites and quartz crystals.”

They go on to say: “You are not purchasing an island, you are almost purchasing a small country where you will be master of ALL you survey.” That is quite possible what every man wants, to be the master of all you survey, the king of your own country. I guess it may be wise to just settle here, build a castle, design a flag, and promote a military.

If you decide that you want to navigate off of the island you it would be wise to get a yacht (this article is starting to turn into a Price is Right Showcase Showdown)

The Most Expensive Yacht

Larry Ellison’s, the founder of Oracle, 244-foot yacht, the Katana, is the most expensive yacht for sale at this point in time (there is a two-way tie, but we like his better). This yacht boasts of all the finest amenities including a two-story owner’s suit, space to entertain a dozen guests and even a basketball court. One may wonder why Ellison would get rid of such of amazing yacht, the answer is it is time to upgrade. Ellison is currently building and even larger yacht in Europe. So pick this one up to enjoy the most expensive vacation. Really at this point you return to your island to realize, how will I get around and I guess the only answer to that is you must buy a car.

The Most Expensive Car

We were convinced it was a Bugatti Veyron, however, we dugg a little deeper to find this 1961 Ferrari California Spyde, which recently sold for a record $10,894,900. The car was actually valued at half the price, but the new owner redefined the value with this sale. It would be perfect for a top-down cruising through your very own private island. And then….. came the reality check!

The Reality Check

As I awoke from my day-dream of perhaps the most incredible vacation ever. I began to think, does any of this really matter? Does money really buy happiness or just great experiences. I was reminded of my last “vacation” to El Salvador where I slept on a concrete floor, drank warm goat’s milk, and shared a bathroom with an entire village. For some strange reason these people were happy, happier than the pretentious illusion of contentment that money brings. So what is the best vacation possible, I say anywhere. Anywhere you can enjoy your family and get a break from the stress and chains of everyday life. The place where you can forget the who you are supposed to be or what you are supposed to do and relax, finding the true meaning of life once again.
