Cape Code, Massachusetts is a wonderful place for a family vacation. There are many bike and nature trails available on foot and by bike. The Cape Cod Rail trail is a well-maintained asphalt bikeway that follows the Old Colony Railroad tracks for 26 miles from Dennis to Wellfleet. There are many places to rent bicycles in town. You can also leave your car in one of the garages owned by the various hotels and easily jump on the bike trail. 

The nature preserves here are abundant; some of the best include the Fort Hill Trails, the Punkhorn Trails or the Audubon Nature Reserve. At the Cap Cod Natural History Museum, you will also find nature trails behind the museum, which will take you through a salt marsh with a boardwalk, and you will find yourself on a secluded beach! There you can have a picnic, or watch the romantic sunset. 

Visit the Cape Playhouse, which offers theatregoers a great place to watch local theatre at its best. It is also the oldest summer playhouse located in the United States. There are many different types of plays shown here including family shows, musical comedy and classic theatre performances. A visit to the Cape Playhouse is a great, fun activity to partake in with your loved ones. 

Antique lovers will really enjoy the many antique shops and boutiques, which are located in Cape Cod. There are also flea markets, antique road shows and specialty boutiques, which can be found in this seaside town. 

Golf lovers will relish in the fact that there are more than 50 golf courses available in Cape Cod and surrounding islands. Due to the mild winters, many courses are able to stay open year-round. Enjoy a round of golf as you surround yourself in the beautiful scenery carved out of graceful pines.  

Sailing and whale watching are also other fun activities that are recommended while you are in Cape Cod. You can also watch for seals in the town of Chatham. There is nothing more exciting than witnessing nature up close and personal, and the thrill of being on the open ocean will energize and excite you.
