People’s square is a large plaza, which is located in the heart of Shanghai. It borders the famous Nanjing Road, which divides east from west, and offers a limitless number of activities to do, ranging from the Urban Planning Museum of Shanghai, to City Hall and the Art Gallery of Shanghai. Its lovely to go for a walk here and take in all the sights and sounds that People’s square has to offer.
Shanghai’s Yuyuan Garden and the bridge with nine curves, is a very popular place for tourists and locals alike. Here you can find streets, which are wider, with little traffic and shops as well as boutiques abound. The prices are always reasonable and here you can find a variety of different products, everything from handicrafts to all various types of food items! Shanghai’s bazaars are not only abundant; they are a fun way to barter for items. Head to Fuyou Road, here you can find everything from T-shirts, games, sunglasses, and traditional Chinese decorations.
Shanghai’s port is one of the most important ports in the whole world. The Yangtze River runs through the port, which is the third largest river in the world, and the largest in all of Asia. Many products are which are imported from other countries to China; enter this port, as well as tons of products and material, which China exports to many diverse countries leave from Shanghai’s great port.
Pudong illuminates at night, with its bright lights and spectacular views. Take a trip on the river by boat, and enjoy the true gem that is Shanghai. There are different size boats and rates available. You can go on a half-an-hour trip for 15-17 dollars and it leaves from the port. Inside, you will find a small restaurant and bar and a lookout point with a small outside terrace for those who want to experience Shanghai’s beauty by boat.
Take a tour of Qibao city, which in Chinese means seven treasures, and is located only 15 kilometres from Shanghai. It is a very traditional Chinese city, with its canals and its shops and open-air markets. You can ride down the canal on a boat, which looks like a gondola, and this is a great place to buy traditional tea and other food products. Don’t forget to barter for everything here as well!
